We all know that ISO develops the standards like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO 22000, ISO 27001 and various other standards to be followed and manage the system of organization in a more productive way. The purpose of the ISO certificate is not for the beautification of the wall of the office, the ISO standards are used to make the things more efficient and user friendly.

Most of the organization get ISO 9001 certification and other system standard very easily without any audit and without any verification of the system is implemented or not. This ISO certification is just a piece of paper which is being printed and given to the organization without any audit/verification. These activities are done by some IAF/Non-IAF boards. These few peoples are ruined the value of these beautiful management system standards.

Issuance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 etc. without any audit and verification of implementation of standard is a fake certifications.

Few consultants and certification bodies have defines the fake ISO certification in other ways. They say if a certification body is accredited by the Non-IAF board and the certification is issued by that certification body then the certificate is fake. But if the proper audit is done and then certificate is issued then the certificate is not fake.

If a certification body is accredited by a IAF or Non-IAF board and does not follow ISO/IEC 17021, and still issue the certificates then this is also called a fake ISO certificate.

If a IAF accredited certification body issues a certificate without any audit/verification of implementation of standard is also a fake ISO certificate.
